When Your Soaring Through The Air, I'll Be Your Solid Ground If I could have any super-power I’d want to have the power of well being. It would waft around me like fresh-baked cookies and comfort like a cozy blanket on a cold morning. I’d always know the right thing to say in any given situation and the effect of it all would last forever. I’d be the 1950's housewife of super heroes - in a good way of course.
As it stands when someone is sick it’s hard for me to call and give comfort. Instead I ramble on, stumbling for the right thing to say, groping for the magic touch which will cure all ills. Trying to keep the discussion more about them and feeling better, than me and my inability to provide a solution to the unsolvable. I think thats why we’ve invented the idea of super heroes. On an instinctual level we want to solve problems with the ease of one who leaps tall buildings in a single bound. Instead of allowing tangible things to hinder us to be able to walk right through them. To stop ticking bombs and save the day. If only.... I wish I had super speed so I could rush to the side of my family and friends, or replicate myself to be everywhere at once. But above all I want to give well being, I want to comfort people in their darkest hour. Like a phoenix, help them rise from the ashes and keep going. However, I don’t always have the right words try as I might. All I can hope in the end is they understand how much I wish I could take away their pain, and perhaps do something to lessen the stress. Just know, I’m thinking of you. Always, I’m thinking of you. “It’s never too late to be what you could have been.” - George Elliot 10:22 p.m., 2007-01-21
